FLAGSTAFF -- The Arizona Department of Transportation has shut down several roads in Northern Arizona due to a winter storm.
89A is closed from Flagstaff to Sedona
I-17 closed at Kachina Village (south of Flagstaff) due to downed power line
N/B I-17 from 298 closed
N/B and S/B I-17 from Pullium 337 closed
US 60 - Chains/4x4 required in Salt River Canyon (Globe to Salt River)
US 180 closed from 236 to 250
SR260 - Chains required between Heber and Payson
SR 87 closed from Winslow south to Pine-Strawberry
Driving conditions have been hazardous. Numerous vehicles have gotten stuck in the snow and some have slid off the road.
Due to the large number of crashes and stuck cars, the Department of Public Safety sent officers from other districts to help out.
DPS is discouraging all travel to Northern Arizona due to the adverse weather conditions.
