Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend construction projects. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADOT) crews will shut down several freeways across the Valley.
*Southbound Loop 101 in the West Valley closed between Northern Avenue and Indian School Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 25) for HOV lane project. DETOUR: Freeway traffic can use southbound 99th Avenue. A stretch of the new southbound Loop 101 HOV lane is scheduled to open between Maryland Avenue and Thomas Road by 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 26).
*Northbound Loop 101 in the West Valley closed between Camelback Road and Northern Avenue from 4 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 26) for HOV lane project. DETOUR: Please consider alternate routes. Freeway traffic can use northbound 91st Avenue.
*Eastbound Interstate 10 closed at 35th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 24) for overhead message sign installation. Eastbound Interstate 10 then narrowed to three lanes near 35th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 24) for message sign work. Eastbound on-ramp at 43rd Avenue closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 24). DETOUR: Alternate routes include Van Buren St., McDowell or Thomas roads.
*Westbound Interstate 10 closed at 35th Avenue from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 25) for overhead message sign installation. Westbound on-ramp at 27th Avenue closed. Westbound Interstate 10 then narrowed to three lanes near 35th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 25). Westbound on-ramp at 27th Avenue closed throughout weekend. Both I-17 ramps to westbound I-10 at the ‘Stack’ interchange closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 25).
*Westbound Loop 202 closed between Loop 101 and I-10 in the Chandler area from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 25) for westbound HOV lane completion work. DETOUR: Traffic can use northbound Loop 101 to westbound Ray Road. The new westbound Loop 202 HOV lane is scheduled to open between Gilbert Road and I-10 by 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 26.).
*Southbound Loop 101 closed between Ray Road and Loop 202 in Chandler from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 25) for paving. DETOUR: Alternate routes include Ray Road to southbound Dobson or Alma School roads.
*Southbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane between 75th Avenue and Union Hills Drive in Peoria from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 25) for HOV lane project. Expect ramp closures at times.
