PHOENIX -- Traffic on westbound Interstate 10 was at a standstill for a time Thursday morning after a wreck involving an RV that rolled over on the Salt River Bridge just past University Drive.
At 7 a.m., traffic was creeping by the scene in one or two lanes.
According to Lt. Stephen Harrison of the Department of Public Safety, the wreck involved three vehicles, a tractor trailer, a passenger vehicle and a motor home.
Harrison said the tractor trailer sideswiped the car causing the car to spin out. The car hit the motor home, which then rolled on to the median barrier wall. The passenger car rolled on to the right shoulder.
One person from the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the semi was cited for a minor traffic violation.
Once a tow truck removed the passenger car from the scene, DPS was able to open all but the HOV and No. 1 lanes. Those lanes were closed again when the heavy-duty tow truck arrived on the scene to deal with the motor home.
The wreck was completely cleared and the freeway back open to traffic shortly before 10 a.m.
