P.F. Chang's Marathon road closures

This major event starts in downtown Phoenix at CityScape, 1 E Washington St., and finishes in Tempe at Sun Devil Stadium, 500 E. Veterans Way.
The following streets will be closed 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, to stage the starting area:
•Washington Street – First Avenue to Third Street
•Central Avenue – Jefferson to Adams streets
•First Street – Jefferson to Adams streets

All streets along the route will be closed at 6 a.m.  Start times and the race routes are as follows:
Bike Tour Start – 7:15 a.m.
Marathon Wheelchair Invitational Start – 7:45 a.m.
Marathon Start – 7:50 a.m.
•Washington Street – Second Street to Seventh Avenue
•Seventh Avenue – Washington Street to Missouri Avenue
•Missouri Avenue – Seventh Avenue to 24th Street
•24th Street – Missouri Avenue to Camelback Road
•Camelback Road – 24th Street to Arcadia Drive
•Arcadia Drive – Camelback to Indian School roads
•Indian School Road – Arcadia Drive to Scottsdale Road
•48th Street – Indian School Road to Van Buren Street
•Van Buren Street – 48th Street to Mill Avenue
•Mill Avenue – Priest Drive to Sun Devil Stadium (finish)

All other major/collector streets, local streets, and driveways will be closed along the route as the race approaches and will be reopened as it proceeds.  All streets will be open to normal traffic by 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19.
Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and local access to homes and businesses.
The P.F. Chang’s Rock’n’Roll Half-Marathon will be held in Scottsdale and Tempe at 7:30 a.m.
McDowell Road between 52nd Street and the Galvin Parkway will be closed and Galvin Parkway between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street will be restricted between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. during the half-marathon race.
Access to the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens will be maintained.
Note: To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra time during their Sunday commute, and use the freeway system when traversing the course route.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon-related freeway-ramp restrictions on Sunday (Jan. 19) in Phoenix area
PHOENIX – The following freeway-ramp restrictions are scheduled on Sunday (Jan. 19) for the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon in the Phoenix area, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:
•Westbound I-10 off-ramp at Seventh Avenue closed, eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Seventh Avenue restricted with no northbound turns from 4 a.m. to approximately 9:15 a.m. Sunday.
•Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramp at McClintock Drive closed from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
•Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramp at Van Buren Street closed from 4 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. Sunday.
•Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramps at Scottsdale Road restricted from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sunday, with southbound turns limited to event traffic only. Non-event traffic will be detoured to northbound Scottsdale Road.
•For drivers planning to exit eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) at 52nd Street, please note no turns will be allowed from southbound 52nd Street to eastbound Van Buren Street from 4 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. Sunday.
