PHOENIX -- Cars were backed up bumper to bumper as far as the eye could see after a single-vehicle rollover on Loop 101 at Olive Avenue brought traffic to a standstill late Thursday morning.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Michael Garcia of Laveen was heading north on the 101at about 11 a.m. when his left front tire blew out. Garcia's truck careened across the median and rolled into the southbound lanes of the 101. The truck, which is owned by Mundall Trucking, was carrying asphalt. That asphalt spilled all over the roadway as the truck rolled.
DPS reopened the lanes shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Garcia, 39, was hurt in the wreck, but his injuries were believed to be minor. He was taken to Banner Medical Center.
