West Valley commuters advised to allow extra travel time along I-10, Loop 101 this afternoon as football fans, concert goers head west

PHOENIX - Heavier traffic is expected along freeway routes to the West Valley this afternoon as fans head to the Arizona Cardinals-Seattle Seahawks game in Glendale and a country music concert at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in west Phoenix.

Drivers are encouraged to allow plenty of extra travel time for westbound travel along Interstate 10 and Loop 101 this afternoon. The Cardinals game against the Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 5:25 p.m., so fans are advised to get to the stadium early to avoid the anticipated heavier afternoon rush hour traffic.

The Jason Aldean concert at the Ak-Chin Pavilion, near 83rd Avenue and I-10, is slated to start at 7 p.m.
