Freeway closures could affect weekend plans

Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend freeway construction projects,which include restrictions and closures.  These Arizona Department of Transportatation (ADOT) projects could affect your travel plans, especially if you are headed to a Suns game or other activity in Downtown Phoenix.


*Eastbound I-10 closed between I-17 and 16th Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 12). Westbound I-10 also closed between Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 13) for tunnel maintenance. Ramps from southbound State Route 51 and westbound Loop 202 to westbound I-10 also closed. DETOUR: Eastbound I-10 drivers can use southbound I-17 to reconnect with I-10 near Sky Harbor Airport. I-10 westbound local drivers can use McDowell Road or northbound I-17 to connect with I-10 at the "Stack."
 

*Southbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) ramp to westbound I-10 closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan.12) for barrier wall repair. DETOUR: Drivers can use McDowell Road to 99th Avenue.
 

*Westbound I-10 narrowed overnight to one lane between Sarival Avenue and Citrus Road from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 12) for I-10/Loop 303 interchange construction. DETOUR: Be prepared to merge safely in work zone.
