PHEONIX -- Before you head out onto Valley roadways this weekend, make a note of these weekend construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), so you can avoid the traffic tie-ups, back-ups and slow-downs. Drivers on the west side of town should consider alternates for the construction projects around “The Stack.” Crews will do bridge work that will last through the weekend.
• All I-10 ramps to north- and southbound I-17 closed 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (April 21) for bridge work. Alternate: Exit the freeway at 19th Avenue or 35th Avenue, and travel north to McDowell and make your way to the I-17 from there.
• All I-17 ramps to east- and westbound I-10 closed 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (April 22) for bridge work. Alternate: Exit I-17 at McDowell or Thomas and travel to either 19th Avenue or 35th Avenue south to the I-10.
• I-17 closed in both directions between McDowell Road and Adams/Van Buren Street from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 23) for bridge work. Alternate: Exit I-17 at McDowell, take 19th Ave, or 27th Avenue south to Van Buren or Buckeye, then turn and access I-17 from either street.
