All Star parade allows fans to get up close to players

It’s a special opportunity for baseball fans to get up close and personal with the pros in Phoenix for the 82nd MLB All-Star Game. The All-Star Red Carpet Show this Tuesday before the big game will include a procession of the All-Stars to the Midsummer Classic.  The short parade will begin with ambassador Luis Gonzalez, who will ride in the lead vehicle as Grand Marshal. 


Everyone is invited to come to Downtown Phoenix to take in the caravan, as they make their way down approximately 1,750 feet of red carpet, stretching one-third of a mile from the corner of First Street and Jefferson Street down to Fourth Street, and ending at Chase Field.
 

The All-Star Red Carpet Show will begin at noon Phoenix time.  The following streets are scheduled to be closed on Tuesday, July 12, from midnight to 3 p.m. due to the Red Carpet Show parade:

-Jefferson Street between Central Avenue and Seventh Street
 

-Second Street between Washington and Jefferson streets 
 

The following streets are scheduled to be closed on Tuesday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the same event:

-First Street between Washington and Jackson streets
 

-Third Street between Washington and Jackson streets
 

-Madison Street between First Street and Central Avenue 
 

Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control.
