PHOENIX -- Drivers will not face any freeway construction closures in the Phoenix area over the Labor Day weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Crews on freeway projects will not schedule full closures over the three-day weekend. ADOT and other public safety agencies are urging drivers to stay alert when out on the road. Last year, seventeen people were killed in crashes on highways and local streets around the state over the Labor Day weekend.
ADOT also is not scheduling closures along state highways outside the Phoenix-metro area.
Updates on highway conditions are available by visiting ADOT's Travel information site at www.az511.gov or by calling 5-1-1.
