(3 ON YOUR SIDE) -

Ray Ralston says he's glad to have his money back and says it only happened because of 3 On Your Side.

"Again, I’m happy with the results and the fact that I got a refund," Ralston told 3 On Your Side.

In a recent news report, Ralston explained how he was on the internet and came across a weight loss product that caught his eye.

The pills were distributed by a company called Balanced Well Health, and according to Ralston, it was a 14-day trial offer.

"'Why not?' That's what I thought. I said, 'We'll give it a shot,'" he says he told himself.

The trial offer was for only $4.97. So, Ralston put in his information, including his credit card number, and two bottles of pills arrived.

However, exactly 14 days later when the trial period expired, Ralston says Balanced Well Health charged him $94.97 for one bottle and $89.97 for the second bottle.

"And then, all of the sudden I get an alert from my bank about the charges and I said, 'No, I didn't authorize this sale,'" he said.

In reality, though, Ralston unknowingly did authorize it. That's because he failed to read through the company's 18 pages of terms and conditions saying he agreed to be charged for the two bottles.

"Do you read all that fine print?” Ralston asked.

“Probably not. We probably should but we don't,” he said.

So, Ralston contacted 3 On Your Side for help getting his money back. But, he says was already setting himself up for disappointment, saying, "Well you know, at least we made an effort. Mr.Harper made an effort."

But not only did 3 On Your Side make an effort, we convinced Balanced Well Health to return all of Ralston’s money. The company told us in an email, "While efforts are made to have customers review all terms and conditions, we understand that can still sometimes be overlooked."

And he checked out his credit card statement where two transactions totaling $184.94 credited back to his account.

Ralston says it only happened with the help of 3 On Your Side.

"I'm very happy with it. And, I'm glad I called 3 On Your Side," he said.

3 On Your Side appreciates Balanced Well Health getting involved at our request and returning that money to Ralston. They didn’t have to, but they did and 3 On Your Side appreciates that.

If you’re considering trying a trial offer for any kind of product, always read the company’s terms and conditions. The responsibilities and expectations from the company and the consumer are usually spelled out in the so-called fine print.
