PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

With temperatures heating up in the Valley, the Phoenix Zoo is cooling down by transforming into a winter wonderland on Saturday, July 14 with their Winter in July festival.

Visitors can chill out in nearly 50 tons of snow, splash around at the wet and wild play areas and watch animals enjoy icy treats.

All Winter in July activities are included with general zoo admission.

[SPECIAL SECTION: Good Morning Arizona]

Winter in July's games and activities include snow targets, cornhole snow toss, snow "paint" and winter games-themed contests.

There's a chance of snow! Every hour there visitors can expect a  "snow" blizzard!

There will be tons of snow for the elephants and orangutans to play in, eat and cool off. Visitors can stay cool at the Leapin Lagoon and Yakulla Caverns water play areas.
