Family Fun at Vertuccio Farm's Fall Festival    

Fall is in the air and that means time to have some fun down at the farm, Vertuccio Farms. Each year, things get bigger and better at this family farm. New this year: Mini-golf and a Mule-pulled Wagon" ride. The kids will burn some energy trying to make their way through the 7-acre corn maze, giant jump pad and tube roll, mini zip-line and an extreme air pillow. There's also the classic giant tube slide! 

The Fall Festival and Corn Maze at Vertuccio Farm's is a must for families! 

October 2nd thru November 5th

Beer & Barre class at The Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen

From the restaurant that introduced Beer Yoga to the Valley comes Beer & Barre! The Beer & Barre class will take place at The Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen on Saturday, Oct. 14 as
part of its OktoberPhest Central celebration. 

Other OktoberPhest Central activities will include a Pizza & Pints beer dinner, brew-lette wheel (like roulette, only better), a dress up station for OktoberPhest selfies, and a beer & brat combo platter that benefits the Arizona Small Dog Rescue. Activities begin Monday, Oct. 9 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 22nd.

"Pinteresting" and hauntingly awesome workshops happening this month to get you in the holiday spirit. From vino and craft workshops to Halloween glows, they've got you covered for the whole month of October

Pinspiration is a DIY arts and crafts studio/wine bar/events space in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area located on High Street (City North).

Jr Chef: Aviva Schnitzer shows us her favorite dishes

Today, Aviva, daughter of Lucia and Ken Schnitzer of Luci's Healthy Marketplace, shows us what she enjoys whipping up in the kitchen. And, it seems, she's following in her mom's footsteps with a love of healthy cooking.

Aviva's Tacos Recipe
Makes 6-8 tacos

Meat

  • 1lb of ground beef
  • ½ cup white onion (chopped)
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp curry
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Toppings

  • ¼ cup Salsa
  • ¼ cup fresh lettuce
  • ¼ cup red onion (chopped)
  • ¼ cup cooked corn kernels
  • ¼ cup cheese (optional)

Shells
Hard taco shells (or see recipe below to make your own taco shells. 

Shells homemade

  • 6 corn tortillas (small)
  • ¼ cup avocado oil

Directions
Turn pan on medium and sauté ½ cup white onion. Add all of the beef, cumin, paprika, curry, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly and cook together until there is no pink in the meat. Cook on medium. Take taco shells and scoop meat mixture in until about ¼ full. Top with fresh salsa, lettuce, red onion, cheese and cooked corn.
 
Shell directions
Heat avocado oil in pan on medium to high until nice and hot. Lower heat closer to medium. Place one corn tortilla in and let crisp up until golden brown. Repeat on other side and fold until looks like a taco shell.
