Finally, double-digit temperatures are in the forecast!

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

It's time to pop the cork and celebrate with Valley highs under 100 degrees this weekend and into next week.

A trough across the West is pulling a dry air mass from the southwest into Arizona. This is suppressing thunderstorm development for most of the state, keeping skies clear, dropping humidity and keeping temperatures seasonably warm.

Occasional weak disturbances from time to time will kick up breezes next week, otherwise look for generally sunny skies through Tuesday. The exception to the rule will be south and east of Tucson, as well as along the Arizona-Utah border, where lingering moisture may help fire off isolated storms.

By Wednesday and continuing through Friday, a deeper trough is expected to drag a cold front across the state. This will bring breezy to windy conditions, an increase in clouds, a slim chance of showers and cooler temps.

In Metro Phoenix, look for a high of 98 Saturday afternoon with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday around 99, Wednesday at 98, Thursday at 95 and Friday at 91 degrees. Lows will be in the 70s. The seasonal average high for this time of year in Metro Phoenix is about 100.
