Kidnapping suspect on the run; 10-year-old Avondale victim found safe

AVONDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 10-year-old Avondale boy has been found safe after police say he was kidnapped but the suspect remains on the run.

On Tuesday, September 12 at around 5 p.m.,  Avondale Police were called out to a home in reference to a kidnapping.

According to officers, a man told police his 2001 BMW had been taken without his permission by a female acquaintance, 20-year-old Janela Ivana Enriquez-Arreola.

The man stated his 10-year-old son, who suffers from a serious medical condition, was in the backseat of the vehicle when it was taken.

The vehicle was later located by police, disabled, in the area of 32nd Avenue and Van Buren St. in Phoenix, with the boy safe inside.

The suspect took off from the scene prior to police arrival and is still outstanding.

The 10-year-old was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for precautionary reasons.

He was reunited with his father at the hospital.

Enriquez- Arreola is described as 5'2", weighs about 125 pounds, has brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair.
