PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 39-year-old man was shot twice overnight at a Phoenix apartment complex, according to Phoenix police.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. Sunday night at the Coconut Grove Apartments near Indian School Road and 20th Avenue.

Police said two Hispanic males approached the 39-year-old victim, claiming he perpetrated a crime against them prior.

They chased him through the apartment complex, where the victim was visiting a friend.

Eventually, one of the suspects fired four shots at the victim, striking him twice, once in the back and once in the leg.

The suspects then fled the scene.

The victim was able to make his way to the street and flag down help. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police currently do not have a suspect description beside the suspects being Hispanic males and they do not know if they fled by foot or vehicle.

Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call the Phoenix Police Department.
