PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

The magic number for the Phoenix Mercury is three. That’s how many wins the team needs to get to another WNBA Finals and pursue its fourth championship. After an 88-83 road win against the Connecticut Sun, the Phoenix Mercury advances to a best-of-five semifinal.

The team performs the best when facing elimination, with a perfect 4-0 record when the season is on the line. Mercury legend Diana Taurasi scored 23 points, and is now 11-0 in elimination games all-time. Brittney Griner added 26 points and nine rebounds.
