PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

An attic fire in a Phoenix home has displaced a family of five early Thursday morning.

According to Phoenix fire, crews responded to a house fire near 37th Avenue and Meadowbrook Avenue.

When they arrived, the fire was in the attic and all occupants were out of the house with no one trapped inside.

Fire crews said the smoke detectors were not functioning and the fire will displace the family of five.

They believe the fire started near a water heater that was moved into the attic.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.
