PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

It has been a very difficult few weeks for Goldie, but you would never know it by looking at her adorable little face.

Goldie came into the care of the Arizona Humane Society after her elderly owner fell ill and did not believe they could continue to give her the proper love and attention she deserved. Upon her intake, the technicians in our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™ discovered that Goldie was in need of medical attention herself; she was diagnosed with elevated liver enzymes and arthritis.

Goldie is unbelievably sweet and is looking for a caretaker to spend her golden years with. You can tell by the way she looks up at each passing staff member and volunteer, hoping they might be the one to take her home.

Goldie’s quality of life is considerably good, and while it can be emotionally difficult to take on a pet with her conditions and needs, the emotional rewards of providing a life of luxury to a deserving pet are more worth it.

Available for adoption now at our Sunnyslope location, stop in today and pay this 12-year-old Chow Chow a visit. She cannot wait to meet a new family with whom she can take some slow neighborhood strolls and receive lots of pets from.

She also loves to curl up at your feet and listen to a good book, so Goldie just may give you the perfect excuse you’ve been looking for to catch up on some reading.

Goldie’s adoption fee has been waived in exchange for a good home. She has already been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information or to set up a meet and greet, call 602-997-7585 ext. 2156 and ask for animal number A564693.

Cause an Effect

Bring your appetite to Chipotle on Wednesday, Sept. 6 because restaurants in Arizona will be donating half of the proceeds to AHS. Just tell the cashier you are supporting the cause or show him or her the AHS flyer on your mobile device. (Get it here.) The fundraiser runs from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.

All 50 Arizona Chipotle locations are taking part.
