PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A man allegedly assaulted his mother and then fled, jumping onto the roof of a home in Phoenix, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene near 87th Avenue and Campbell Avenue sometime early Monday morning.

Upon arrival, the suspect, 26-year-old Miguel Montoya, who police said assaulted his mother, jumped onto the roof of the home.

Police said there are indications Montoya was impaired by drugs.

Several officers were called out to help safely get him down from the roof.

Police eventually were able to get Montoya down from the roof and place him in custody.

Montoya is facing multiple charges including one count of a dangerous drug violation, one count of criminal trespassing and one count of disorderly conduct.
