GOODYEAR, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A California woman who was reportedly kidnapped and the suspect was spotted in the west Valley on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Virginia Paris, 55, and the kidnapping suspect, Joseph Hetzel, 52, were seen at the Starbucks at McDowell and Litchfield roads around 7:15 a.m., according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

Paris ordered a coffee drink and gave the name Virginia. She then went to the bathroom and when she came out, she told a customer she needed help, SBCSO said.

Hetzel apparently saw this so he grabbed her and dragged her out of the shop, investigators said. He then allegedly kicked her into the car and sped off.

Deputies said she then threw the car registration out of the door and Goodyear police officers recovered it.

Hetzel was driving Paris' black 2015 Chrysler 200 with a California license plate number 7NGE514. It was last seen going on the Interstate 10 freeway east toward Phoenix.

SBCSO said it is working with Goodyear police and other Arizona law enforcement agencies to find the two people. The FBI is also involved.

Anyone with information should call 911. For those who want to leave an anonymous tip, call the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office's tip line at (805) 658-4171 or head to their website

If somebody sees Hetzel, don't approach him but call 911, SBCSO said. He should be considered armed and dangerous, deputies said.

SBCSO said it all started when deputies got information that Hetzel kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Paris in the city of Solvan on Friday. The city is about 35 miles northwest of Santa Barbara.

Paris and Hetzel then went south on Highway 101 toward Ventura County.

They were then spotted in Arizona on Sunday morning.

Paris is described as a white woman, 5'6", 150 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light colored shirt.

Hetzel is described as a white man, 6'2", 195 lbs. with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a light blue colored shirt.

SBCSO said Paris filed for a restraining order which was granted but had yet to be served.

Deputies also said Hetzel has served time in prison for possession of items used to make explosive devices, using explosive devices with the intent to terrorize, felony vandalism and criminal threats.
