GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 12-year-old girl saved her baby cousin from drowning in her family's backyard pool in Glendale on Sunday afternoon.

It happened at a home near 59th and Northern avenues.

According to Glendale Fire Department, the victim, 18-month-old Talia Adam, was found floating in swimming pool. Talia's second cousin, Imtisal Mohamed,  jumped in and pulled her out.

Someone else at the house administered CPR until firefighters arrived.

Underwater for an unknown amount of time, Talia is lucky Imtisal was ready, willing and able to come to her rescue.

According to the Glendale Fire Department, Talia was taken to a local hospital and was apparently screaming when she arrived, which is a good sign in cases like this.

It's unclear if there was a fence around the pool.

An investigation is underway.
