Phoenix shooting leaves 1 woman dead

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A woman died after a shooting in Phoenix Thursday night, according to police. Phoenix PD said just before 8 p.m. officers responded to a victim with a gunshot wound near Seventh Avenue and Grant Street.

Witnesses said the victim, an adult female identified as 45-year-old Crystal Brown, was shot during a confrontation with a group of men. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Officers spoke to witnesses who directed them to the area of 500 S. 15th Avenue where they said the original incident occurred. Investigators did find evidence of a shooting at that location.

There is currently no viable description of the suspects and the investigation is ongoing. Phoenix police is asking anyone with information about this shooting to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
