PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified a man who was killed following a collision late Sunday night on westbound Loop 101.

According to DPS, Michael Steinberg, 32, was driving his 2013 silver Hyundai when he rear-ended a 1993 white Chevrolet pick-up truck on westbound Loop 101 at State Route 51 sometime around 9:45 p.m.

Steinberg was transported to a local hospital where he died. 

Westbound Loop 101 was shut down for a brief period, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. It was partially reopened with the HOV and two left lanes remaining closed while law enforcement continued their crash investigation.

All lanes were reopened just before 1:00 a.m.

According to DPS, a driver and passenger of the pickup truck were uninjured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
