Arizona college official resigns after drug raid arrest

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- An Arizona community college board member has resigned following his arrest during a drug raid at his Kingman home.

According to a news release by Mohave Community College, Jon Longoria resigned Friday from its Board of Governors. Longoria was elected to serve the trustee on the board for District 4 in 2014.

He was arrested last Monday and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mohave Community College officials say they will discuss the future of the vacant position at the Board of Governors' Sept. 8 meeting.
