All you can eat "mooncakes" at Denny's today for the eclipse

Posted: Updated:

Denny's restaurants are celebrating the eclipse the best way they know how -- pancakes, or rather, "mooncakes." At Denny's, you can get all the moon-shaped buttermilk pancakes you can eat for only $4.

Inspired by today's astrological phenomenon, this deal (and these pancakes) will only last for one day only. But Denny's says in their press release, "The Mooncakes will be available for one day only, but America can continue to experience Denny’s regular pancakes – which look a lot like the moon – every other day of the year."

Here's the full press release from Denny's.

On Monday, Aug. 21 people across the entire U.S. will be treated to a truly phenomenal event—Denny’s $4 All You Can Eat “Mooncakes”. Inspired by the upcoming solar eclipse, Denny’s is celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime event with delicious, moon-shaped Buttermilk Pancakes. The Mooncakes will be available for one day only, but America can continue to experience Denny’s regular pancakes – which look a lot like the moon – every other day of the year.

“Like all of America, our team at Denny’s is excited about the upcoming solar eclipse and we wanted to have a little fun to mark this historic occasion,” said John Dillon, @DillonJohnW, chief marketing officer for Denny’s. “We know America already loves our signature $4 All You Can Eat Pancakes, so it seemed fitting to celebrate with these delicious, moon-shaped bites. Our $4 All You Can Eat Mooncakes will only be available for the solar eclipse, but of course our guests can enjoy the same great value with our regular pancakes every day.”

With more than 1,600 locations nationwide and a new online ordering platform, “Denny’s on Demand,” America can experience the tastiest eclipse with Denny’s whether they’re viewing from their local restaurant or taking in the awe-inspiring sight from their seat at home.
