RIPLEY, N.Y. (MEREDITH) -- A New York bride read a touching set of vows to her groom's 4-year-old son, causing the little boy to break down in tears.
“I want you to be safe, and to try your hardest, and to be a good person,” Emily Leehan said during the wedding ceremony in Riley, New York.
Leehan, a senior airman in the Air Force, married Marine Sgt. Joshua Newville on Saturday, with 4-year-old Gage right by their side.
While sharing some heartfelt words with her stepson, the little boy became overwhelmed with emotion. He wrapped his arms around Leehan and his eyes filled with tears.
In tears himself, Sgt. Newville comforted Gage and told him, "Buddy. It's okay."
The newlywed couple is still on active duty, and won't have time to enjoy their honeymoon just yet. In a few days, they will return to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-LakeHurst in New Jersey.
