SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

They are part bus, part bike and loads of fun.

"Really unusual, 14-person bike so everyone pedals and you can bring your own beer and wine on board," said Robert Mayer, who is the owner of Arizona Party Bike.

That's right. It's your own bar on the go that takes you and your friends around Old Town Scottsdale to see the sights.

"We’ve had a great time waving at people and crowds they aren't sure what to make of us but they know we are having fun," said Erika Barba.

"Kind of an interesting mix working out both legs and arms," said Mayer.

Groups can book for private parties or individuals can book for pub crawls.

"We do a lot of birthday parties, bachelor, bachelorettes, company team building events, and scavenger hunts and restaurant tours," said Mayer.

The party bikes are equipped with music LED lights, seat belts and an electric motor in case the riders get tired of pedaling.

"It’s OK to pedal the whole time. It gets addictive once you start," said Barba.

And safety is a top priority so before the party goers get on the bike, the drivers go over the rules and everyone has to sign a waiver.

And riders also cannot take any alcohol off the party bike at any time.

"So as long as you are on the party bike you are in Vegas. As soon as you step off the bike with a drink in your hand, you are in Scottsdale and you will get written up" said Mayer.

Right now, the party bikes are in Tucson, Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale. The company has worked with each city and the police department to make sure no laws would be broken.

"Back in 2015 when we got the law changed, it allowed for these vehicles to be on the road and license then as limos and that then allowed for people to have drinks and open containers on board so our customers can BYOB," said Mayer.

“We've got seven in Arizona and 13 or so throughout the world,” said Mayer.

In 2011, Mayer began building and manufacturing the bikes in Tucson and in 2014, he launched his party bike business in Tucson and Scottsdale.

"We've got them in Nashville, Dallas, Philadelphia and Atlanta and we've even got one in down in Brazil," said Mayer.
