Delia Flores called the emergency line on Feb. 25, telling the operator the shooting was an accident.

"He said he had been shot and to call you," she calmly told the 911 operator.

Flores initially said she didn't know how it happened and that the victim was asleep when he was shot.

Eventually, the victim was put on the line and said he was shot in the leg in the groin area.

"I can't stand up," the victim said. "I don't want to die."

While he said the shooting was accidental, court documents paint a different story.

The paperwork said Flores shot him seven times, hitting his penis and his scrotum, while he slept at their home because she thought he had an affair.

Police said they found a 32-millimeter handgun box in a Victoria's Secret bag inside a closet.

Flores was booked into jail on one count of first-degree attempted murder and one count of aggravated assault.

The couple had been dating for the past two years and had lived together for the past year, police said.
