3 On Your Side update: Contractor arrested

Posted: Updated:
(3 ON YOUR SIDE) -

A Valley contractor we've told you about in several reports has finally been arrested.

His name is Paul La Chance. And 3 On Your Side is very familiar with the many complaints filed against him.

"How are you doing, Paul La Chance?"

For two years, Gary Harper and the 3 Your Side teams have been looking into numerous complaints against Paul La Chance and his business, Murray and Sons Construction.

Sgt. Michael Horn is with the Paradise Valley Police Department.

"We arrested Paul La Chance and we know he has been featured on 3 On Your Side. Mr. La Chance came on our radar back in 2015 where he entered into a contract to do landscaping work for one of our residents."

Several Valley residents say they gave La Chance thousands of dollars for contracting work that was either shoddy or work he failed to do at all. The Arizona Registrar of Contractors even revoked the license of Murray and Sons Construction.

Now, it appears the long arm of the law has caught up with La Chance. "He was charged today and taken into custody on a warrant felony theft as well as contracting without a license," said Sgt. Horn.

Sarah Trigg gave La Chance $15,000, but after doing minimal work, she says his company abandoned the project.

"This area would be paver, all this area."

The Salvation Army known for helping needy families, says after giving La Chance $36,000 for landscaping and new sidewalks, the sidewalks cracked a week after being installed.

And after bringing the poor workmanship to La Chance's attention, the Salvation Army says La Chance never came back.

Maj. Adam Morales says a higher source will have the final say in the matter.

"I'll go biblical and say revenge is the Lord's."
