PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -
UnitedHealthcare is hosting a hiring event Wednesday, March 15 in conjunction with the one-year anniversary of myConnections, a consumer-centered approach that addresses the connection between social and economic factors and poor health.
The event will showcase more than one hundred jobs for Phoenix-area residents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rio Salado College's downtown Phoenix campus in building B. There will be recruiters from places like Starbucks, Alorica, Verizon Wireless and Optum Rx.
The event will also be hosted in partnership with Chicanos Por La Causa, Dress for Success, St. Joseph the Worker, Rio Salado College and Flourish now. Those attending the event are encouraged to dress professionally, bring both hard copies and electronic copies of their resumes and be prepared to be interviewed on the spot.
Representatives from myConnections will also be in attendance to help job seekers connect with community resources, such as housing, education, medical and financial services.
The myConnections Center, located at 6850 W. Indian School Road in Phoenix, is another resource many can go to access countless community and government-funded services that address basic needs such as employment, nutrition, housing, health care and legal services. This program was created to assist low-income or vulnerable individuals to gain their independence through the accessibility of programs that will promote consumer health and wellness needs and allow people to live healthier lives.
