New Celtic festival debuts in Phoenix

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

Hundreds of people started their St. Patrick's Day celebrations started early at an inaugural festival in central Phoenix.

The Arizona International Celtic Music and Microbrew Festival was held for the first time ever on Saturday and Sunday in The Backyard at the Arizona State Fairgrounds.

There were three stages that had bands playing Irish music and both Irish and Scottish dancers. 

Vendors made authentic Celtic food such as Irish stew, shepherd's pie and corn beef and cabbage.

Attendees also wet their whistle with up to 30 microbrews.

There were also fire throwers, sword fighting demonstrations and face painting.
