Navajo County Sheriff arrests two after finding drugs and rattlesnakes

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

 A traffic stop led to the arrests of two people from the Pinetop-Lakeside area suspected of selling drugs.

The Navajo County Sheriff's office Major Crimes Apprehension Team said their officers arrested Terry Daugherty and Jeanette Smith after deputies found 10 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

Officials got a warrant to search the property where Daugherty lives in the 1700 block of Juniper Drive in Lakeside.

Once inside the property, officers found drug paraphernalia in the home.

Arizona Game and Fish Department officials were also on site looking into reports Daugherty was raising snakes illegally.  They found 12 rattlesnakes in a back shed on the property. 

Daugherty and Smith are in the Navajo County jail on numerous drug charges,  Additional charges may arise as the investigation continues.
