Person found dead in fire at Phoenix home

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 30-year-old man was found dead when firefighters responded to a house fire in Phoenix, according to authorities.

"A body was located inside the home, Sgt. Alan Pfohl with the Phoenix Police Dept. said in an email. "The cause of the fire and the death is still under investigation."

It happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

The house is near 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

"Initial indications are that the fire is out upon the arrival of crews," Capt. Jake Van Hook with the Phoenix Fire Dept., said in an email. "Crews are remaining on-scene and fire investigators are en route. Further details will be given when available."
