GoodGuys Car Show
The Goodguys 8th Spring Nationals is a HUGE "Cool cars, cool people " hot rod & custom car automotive festival featuring over 2,500 hot rods, customs, classics, street rods, muscle cars & trick trucks through 1972 vintage. This event kicks off the 2017 event season for Goodguys! In addition to the giant car show, this event features:
- A huge vendor midway featuring commercial exhibits and a tractor trailer midway,
- Giant used auto parts swap meet and cars-for-sale area
- Special feature parking areas on Saturday including the 50th anniversary celebration of the Chevy Camaro with the Camaro Corral
- Nitro Thunderfest dragster exhibitionnitro in the air!
- Musical entertainment on Saturday and Sunday
- Goodguys Autocross racing competition (to test vehicle agility and performance, and driver skill)
- Model car show celebration of the hobby and talent of model builders,
- Kids zonePPG Coloring contest, costumed characters, Revell model car kit make n' take sessions, and lots of fun for the entire family!
- K&N Filters All American Sunday; open to all years American made and powered vehicles. Participants, who enter on Sunday will able to run the Goodguys AutoCross, are a part of the show n' shine and be eligible for the awards. Registration for All American Sunday opens at 7 am at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

29th Annual Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival
The Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival taking place March 10-12 at Tumbleweed Park will offer a variety of attractions for guests, such as live ostriches, camel and pony rides, the Drone Zone, Imaginology STEM center and more.
Several new attractions to the Ostrich Festival this year will be showcasing their talents, including theatrical circus entertainers Mango and Dango, an ultimate trampoline show, the Rhinestone Roper featuring his award-winning trick roping, knife throwing, gun spinning and quick draw shooting Wild Wild West Show, and street artist ARCY, known for his paint splashed style of large scale mural art.
Attendees can also look forward to a dance party with Hatchimals and meet and greets with characters like Curious George, Pete the Cat, Elephant and Piggie and If You Give A Mouse a Cookie at Storybook Live. The Ostrich Festival will also be hosting a high-dive show containing a pool that is 26 feet in diameter with the highest dive at 80 feet, as well as The Drone Zone, which will allow patrons of all ages to enjoy the thrill of quadcopter flight in an environment that is enclosed, safe and lots of fun.
Returning favorite, Imaginology STEM center, will feature a collection of hands-on science activities, puzzles and brain teasers, giant classic games and more all designed to tease and challenge the minds of all ages. Also, back this year is The Rockets K-9 Comets, the Frisbee catching dogs.
Live ostriches, as well as pigs, zebras, emus and camels will be returning to this year's festival and will be taking part in a range of fun activities. Festival guests will have the opportunity to enjoy camel and pony rides, in addition to the festival petting zoo
Guided tours of the historic landmark McCroskey House will also be open to guests.

MLB players aim to strike out poverty
Phoenix-based international non-profit, Food for the Hungry is partnering with MLB players to help end extreme poverty in the Dominican Republic with a program called "Striking Out Poverty." More than 80 MLB players, along with local business, Athletes Brand will host a fundraising event on Saturday, March 11 to bring clean drinking water to Mirador in the Dominican Republic.
Striking Out Poverty encompasses nine innings with each inning focused on providing the major need for one community in the DR. For example, the first inning seeks to raise funds for the urgent needs in Mirador such as water purification, building a community center and funding a local baseball program that would give children the opportunity for structured play as well as to be in a safe environment with caring adults who want to invest in them.
Fans can also attend a special evening of baseball on Saturday, March 11 from 7-9 p.m. at Rock Bar, 4245 N Craftsman Ct, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Suggested donation is $20 with music, auction, raffle and more than 80 MLB players confirmed. Travel Channel's Adam Richman and Food for the Hungry Global Ambassador Roberto Clemente Jr. speaking. Athletes Brand will have exclusive MLB Striking Out Poverty t-shirts from each team too that will go to the fundraising efforts.

20th Anniversary of Phoenix Lights
It's one of the most famous UFO sightings in the world. We're talking about the Phoenix Lights. On March 13,1997 people across the southwest witness strange lights in the sky. Many believe the lights were from a UFO. The US Military maintains they were part of a training mission involving flares.
This Sunday will mark 20 years since the event. To mark this event, the Scottsdale Harkins Shea Cinema will be screening the "The Phoenix Lights Documentary." The event runs from 1pm to 5 pm with presentation form former Phx Councilwoman/Vice Mayor Frances Barwood, there will questions and answer hosted by Filmmaker Steve Lantz and Book Signing by Dr. Lynne
