Police are investigating after a car was stolen at gunpoint and one person was shot.
The crime spree through Phoenix and Glendale also included a police pursuit.
It all began at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday.
CAR STOLEN | Marivue Park | 55th Avenue and Osborn Road
The incident started when six people in a Chevrolet Tahoe arrived at Marivue Park in Phoenix.
The park is at 55th Avenue and Osborn Road.
"They confronted some people in a park," said Lt. Wayne Dillon with the Phoenix Police Dept. "At least two of those suspects had guns. One of them had a shotgun. One of them had a handgun."
Two of the people that were in Tahoe ended up stealing an Infiniti sedan from the people who were at the park.
PASSENGER SHOT IN CAR | 61st Avenue and Bethany Home Road
A short time later, a passenger in a car was shot by someone in that stolen Infiniti, according to Sgt. Scott Waite with the Glendale Police Dept.
It happened at 1:20 near 61st Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
"This was a random act of violence," said Lt. Dillon. "These subjects just pulled up to this person in a vehicle, revved the engine of the Infinity vehicle that they had stolen in the armed robbery and flashed their lights at this subject in a car at an intersection. That person was not interested in racing so they shot that person."
Sgt. Waite said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the victim, and adult male, and the shooter did not know each other.
SUV FOUND | Near 63rd Avenue and Indian School Road
The Chevrolet Tahoe, now with four people inside, ended up at 63rd Drive and Monterosa Street, near 63rd Avenue and Indian School Road.
Police officers were following it after the car theft at the park.
"The original suspect vehicle [Chevrolet Tahoe] that all the suspects were in before they stole that vehicle [the Infiniti] was picked up in the area here," said Lt. Dillon. "We got behind that vehicle and as soon as we got behind that vehicle, lit it up, the aircraft was overhead and that vehicle eluded us so we went into pursuit."
Lt. Dillon said officers terminated the ground pursuit very quickly because the driver was going toward oncoming traffic and running red lights.
The police helicopter followed the SUV until the driver stopped on a residential street.
The people who were in the Tahoe took off on foot but police officers, with help from K9 units, managed to catch three of them.
One is still on the loose and could be armed.
INFINITI PURSUIT ENDS | Near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road
Meantime, police on the ground and in a helicopter were still pursuing the two suspects in the stolen Infiniti.
The chase ended at approximately 3 a.m. at 107th Avenue and Solano Drive, near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road.
That's where the driver of the car crashed into an irrigation canal.
Both of the people in that car ran from the crash.
Police quickly established a perimeter.
One of them was apprehended after police searched on the ground with K9 units and from the air.
Police are still looking for the other person from that scene. He might have a gun.
