Pinal County Sheriff’s officials say the school zone enforcement focus Monday morning in San Tan Valley netted over 70 people.
Sheriff department spokesperson Navideh Forghani said sheriff deputies, along with a joint taskforce, focused on traffic enforcement within San Tan Valley School Zones during the morning commute from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The results were concerning. We issued 73 citations to people for speeding within a school zone, said Forghani.
Two arrests were also made for drug related DUIs, said Forghani, there were 4 citations issued for running red lights.
Today’s effort are a reminder to everyone to practice safe driving, especially when in a school zone.
