Rescue teams saved two people that were surrounded by flooded waters in the southwest Valley.
The Phoenix Fire, Tolleson Fire and Gila River Fire departments were called out to the Salt River bottom area near 91st Avenue and Southern Avenue on Wednesday night.
They said they found the two victims stranded on a section of dry land in the river bottom.
Crews used a helicopter to land on the strip of dry land, loaded the victims and bringing them to shore.
They took the victims one at a time from the parcel surrounded by water.
It appears the two people weren't hurt.
Fire crews haven't said what led up to them getting stranded.
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation tweeted just after 6:30 p.m. that 91st Avenue was closed between Southern Avenue and Baseline Road.
