Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Col. Frank Milstead will not be getting a position in the Trump administration.
Milstead and former Pinal County Sheriff’ Paul Babeu were both interviewed for the top post of Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection.
On Wednesday, Milstead confirmed he was informed he did not get the job.
News of his notification indicates an announcement about the top job at CBP may be forthcoming from Washington.
Milstead said he was honored to be considered and that there was no downside for him in the process.
