Rescue crews saved an elderly man who was stuck inside an SUV at a flooded wash in the far southwest Valley.

That man has been identified as 72-year-old Dwight Music.

Firefighters said Music got stuck in the Hassayampa River with the raging water surrounding the vehicle on Tuesday night.

Teams from Tonopah, Buckeye Valley, City of Buckeye and Phoenix Fire departments were all on the scene.

Due to the strong current, the SUV would move down the river.

A group of rescuers walked to the SUV and were able to put a life preserver on the man and then walked him safely to shore.

Music was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

He was not given a citation.
