PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

Two young boys were taken to the hospital after they were hurt when an SUV started rolling in their driveway in far north Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the mother was unloading something from her SUV on 27th Avenue north of Carefree Highway when one of the boys was able to change gears that caused the SUV to roll.

One of the boys was hit while the other was injured when he was thrown from the car, officers said.

The 5-year-old and the 2-year-old were taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening and they are in stable condition, police said.

There was also an 18-month-old child in the SUV, who wasn't hurt, firefighters said. A family member said the child was 9 months old.

Police said there was surveillance video backing up the statements made to investigators.
