MARANA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A tiny bunny has found a friend in a tortoise at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana.

The two-week-old desert cottontail made its way into the hotel's habitat and cozied up to a giant tortoise, the hotel said.

They apparently bonded quickly and became friends.

Ranger Briand found the bunny cuddled up next to the reptile with plant debris around its neck. While clearing the debris, the tortoise became quite responsive to what the ranger was doing, emitting grunts and groans in a clear demand for the gentle care of his newly-found friend, The Ritz-Carlton said.

"This ultimate example of Tortoise and Hare finding each other might just signal the beginning of a wonderful friendship," the hotel said in a Facebook post.

The bunny is doing much better and is receiving plenty of TLC from the tortoise and the habitat's rangers.
