PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 3-year-old girl pulled from a backyard pool in the northwest Valley Saturday has died.

Phoenix police say the girl was pulled from a pool at a home near I-17 and Jomax Road around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The little girl's father reportedly found her in the pool and pulled her out.  A neighbor performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The girl, who was believed to be underwater for about two minutes, was said to have a faint pulse.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died on Monday.

"Took 10 minutes to take away a life. I was 30 feet away, in 10 minutes and it took an entire life. It destroyed thousands of lives for the people that she touched," John Ryan, Charleigh's father, said.

A memorial was held for her in her neighborhood.

Charleigh Ryan was described as a fun-loving little girl.

"She was the shining light of everybody. Every child that met her became best friends with her," John said.

So far police say this appears to be a terrible accident.

One of Charleigh's favorite spots was the park. Her parents described her as adventurous and spunky.

"She would say, 'I'm so funny.' Yeah, she was always getting dirty," John said.

Now the Ryan family is in mourning with a message to others.

"Cherish every moment. Hug your babies so tight. You never know what's going to happen," John said.

A GoFundMe page was set up for the family.
