CASA GRANDE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

Casa Grande police have arrested a man and a woman for allegedly stealing from a local jewelry store.

Cleveland Armstrong, 66, and his alleged accomplice, Carolin Strange, 57, were reportedly involved in a jewelry theft at Sommers Jewelers, located on East Florence Boulevard.

On February 15, the pair entered the store, requesting an item that was being repaired. After the employee went to the back to get the repaired piece, police say Strange distracted the rest of the employees in the store while Armstrong took a tray of jewelry from the counter and concealed items underneath his clothes. Police say he then took the goods out to his car.

When the employee came back with the repaired jewelry, police say the couple grabbed it and left the store.

Sommers employees contacted police after noticing missing pieces and watching surveillance video of the theft.

Police began a search for the two suspects later that day.

Armstrong was contacted by the store for another repair and returned to the store the next day.

Store employees notified the police, and Armstrong was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.

Strange was booked the following day.

Charges of Burglary and Theft are being forwarded for both subjects to Pinal County for review.
