Officers learned Massaro was struck by a car driven Jasime Harpe, 21, of Glendale. Harpe was traveling east on Camelback Road when Massaro crossed the road mid-block, Waite said.

Harpe remained on the scene and cooperated during the investigation.

Waite said it does not appear impairment was a factor.
