'Suspicious' fire destroys house in Tonopah; 3 dogs unaccounted for

TONOPAH, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A fire ripped through a home in Tonopah and firefighters are calling it suspicious.

Firefighters were called out to the home near 422nd Avenue and Bethany Home Road just before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Tonopah Fire Department Captain John Teixeira said the fire started inside the home and that it seemed "suspicious."

Deputies said there reportedly three dogs inside the house and it's unclear if they made it out of the house.

MCSO said the home was a total loss.

No one was hurt.

Arson investigators are looking into it.
