LAVEEN, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A 2-year-old boy died after he was found at the bottom of a pool in the Laveen neighborhood on Sunday.

It happened near 47th Avenue and Dobbins Road just before 2:30 p.m.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, family members told firefighters that they pulled the toddler from the bottom of the pool.

The boy's brother started CPR and firefighters then arrived and took over. He was rushed to Phoenix Children's Hospital where he died, firefighters said.

It's unclear how long the boy was in the water.

Fire crews didn't say how he got into the pool. It appears there wasn't a fence around the pool.
