Police said the shooting happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday outside a home on Harmont Drive in the neighborhood northeast of 35th and Northern avenues.

Officers arrested Stokes Thursday afternoon and booked him on suspicion of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Investigators are still trying to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

At this point, they believe Villareal and the 15-year-old were confronted by two suspects, one of whom was later identified as Stokes.

Detectives have not said how Stokes might be connected to the two victims nor have they released a motive for the shooting. They also have not said anything about the second suspect.

It's not clear if Stokes has a criminal history.
