Boulders Waterfalls

A new "Waterfall Rappel" at the Boulders Resort& Spa is an outdoor activity that takes place on the resort's picturesque grounds beginning at the base of a waterfall that cascades over the ancient rock formations near the Main Lodge. Led by the resort's expert guides, beginners and more experienced rappellers can vertically descend rock faces through a safe and controlled descent over the surrounding waterfall.   

The Waterfall Rappel is a two-hour activity and the cost is $150 per person.  It includes harness, helmet, water, and instruction.

Mesa Free Dental

Today, nearly 500 uninsured children from local school districts will receive free dental care at A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. Care is provided by the dental school's students, faculty, and alumni. The event is hosted in partnership with the American Dental Association and the Arizona Dental Foundation.
 
To reinforce healthy habits, the event will make going to the dentist fun. The festivities include carnival games and face painting. Many of the dental students’ dress as superheroes and other comic-book characters to put kids at ease as they receive dental care.

Free dental screenings for kids

February is national Children's Dental Health Month and Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation is sponsoring the Colgate Smile Van to provide free dental screenings for kids at the Children's Museum of Phoenix on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

The Colgate Smile Van will be at the Children's Museum of Phoenix providing free dental screenings for kids ages 1-12. Parents of children needing treatment will receive referrals for care and all kids will receive a dental health report card and dental supplies.

Healthy Smiles Month at the Children's Museum of Phoenix activities include: 

  •     Magic show performances by The Great Flossini
  •     Delta Dental of Arizona Tooth Fairy visits 
  •     Free dental kits for all Museum visitors provided by Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation 
  •     Visits from Delta Dental of Arizona Pediatric dentists 
  •     Story times with dental related books
  •     Art Studio projects promoting dental hygiene 
  •     Children should receive their first dental screening by "first tooth or first birthday"
  •     Children should visit the dentist two times per year

The Colgate Smile Van is a 32 foot converted vehicle that includes two dental chairs, oral health materials and flat screen televisions playing videos highlighting good oral health habits. Dentist and children will be on the van showcasing the screening protocol.
