Police investigating car-pedestrian collision in north Valley

Phoenix police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

It happened on Friday at approximately 5:30 a.m. on 56th Street north of Shea Boulevard.

Video from the scene showed a big dent in the hood of the car on the driver's side.

Police said the pedestrian has life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and the driver of the car remained on the scene, according to police.

Fifty-sixth Street was closed for several hours between Yucca and Cholla streets.
